SQUARE Pharma has 14 manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh & 01 manufacturing facility in Kenya. From these 15 facilities, SQUARE manufactures a wide range of dosage forms such as Tablets, Capsules, Syrups, Powders for Suspension, Ampoules, Vials, Insulins, Pre-Filled Syringes, Metered Dose Inhalers, Dry Powder Inhalers, Eye Drops, Nasal Sprays, and Natural Products.
SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Kenya EPZ Ltd is situated in the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) of Athi River, Machakos County, Nairobi, Kenya.
The plant represents an investment of approximately USD 75 million. It occupies 17 acres (69,000 m²) and is designed to produce over 2 billion tablets & capsules and 20 million sachets annually.
In May 2022, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) of Kenya granted the plant its Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Certificate and commercial manufacturing license, enabling it to produce and sell generic medicines.
The formulation technologies of the products have been transferred from facilities approved by stringent pharmaceutical regulatory authorities such as the US FDA, UK MHRA, PICS, ANVISA, and South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).
